This was the thirteenth cover in the popular Cousin Reginald series. This illustration was also the thirteenth Country Gentleman cover by Norman Rockwell. Rockwell painted thirty-three covers for The Country Gentleman starting in August 1917, the first Cousin Reginald cover, and continuing through April 1922. One More Week of SchoolEven though the title doesn't actually include Reginald's name, the characters are obviously city Cousin Reginald Claude Fitzhugh and country Cousins Rusty and Tubby Doolittle. Here is the complete list of all Norman Rockwell magazine covers. Norman Rockwell captures two contrasting emotions in this painting. In the next painting in the series, he flipflops the same emotions onto different characters. Reginald, being the teacher's pet, is in his element when he is in a school classroom. He is carefully carrying his books firmly in hand. He doesn't want to accidentally drop them. He is also carrying a bouquet of flowers for Teacher. Rusty and Tubby almost look like they are crying! They are so downhearted. It almost seems like torture to them that school has even one more week to continue before vacation. Their heads are down and their eyes are looking at the ground. But wait til next week .
