The Grandma and Grandpa I'm STILL searching for!

I have a print or ? of "The Old Couple". I have spent MANY hours on the computer, looking in books, and talking to many people.

Every time I think I get close to finding out about this painting that I LOVE so much, someone else tells me something different about it. I'm not sure if its because they think I am being a bother or they don't have the answer. I truly Love this painting and I can't believe I have not seen it more often.

It portrays the way I wish kids would think and dream that's what they have to look forward to. I was even told by Venus Van Ness, from the Norman Rockwell Museum, that he couldn't tell me much about it because it was currently in a private collection.

If you can help me out in anyway I would REALLY appreciate it. I'm sending you a copy of what I have. If you are interested in helping me, I will be happy to send you more. I would really like to know if what I have is something unique or not, because it looks so real. And there is NO true dot pattern.

I appreciate your time,
Sandy

Hi Sandy
I have done some more research on this painting at your request.

On page 59 of Norman Rockwell, A Definitive Catalogue by Laurie Norton Moffatt the location of the painting is part of the collection of the Wagnall's Memorial Foundation Museum. A Definitive Catalogue was published in 1986, so that information may have changed since then.

When you browse the collection on Norman Rockwell Museum website, the listing says the painting is in a private collection. I would tend to trust their current results more than a very fine book that was published almost 30 years ago.

I have updated the page about this painting to reflect this new information.

Thank you,
Keith
